CHRO Participates in State Agency Training

Attorney Robin Fox from the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities and Christine Palm, Communications Director at the Permanent Commission on the Status of Women conducted bi-annual update training for State Agency EEO employees and Attorney General Designees, over 180 employees in all, in June 2015. Attorneys Peter Murphy and Lisa Mehta from Shipman and Goodwin provided an overview of the administrative and judicial decisions from the past two years that effect employment discrimination and the complaint investigation process.  The DCF Players, a group of employees from the Dept. of Children and Families Norwich office, performed some amazing skits that led to open conversations about the more subtle forms of sexual harassment.  Finally, the participants worked through the investigation of several mock complaints, and were able to use each other’s experience and expertise to plan thorough investigations.  This training will occur again in 2017.
