Monday, October 30 – “Legal Rights of Working Parents: Making It Work at Home and on the Job”
On Monday, October 30 the Commission on Human Rights Opportunities will hold a forum on issues facing working parents. “Legal Rights of Working Parents: Making It Work at Home and on the Job” will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in the Old Judiciary Room at the State Capitol. State and federal law offer many protections for parents in the workforce, including recently passed state legislation that expands workplace protections for pregnant women. Representatives Liz Linehan and Cristin McCarthy Vahey, the leading proponents of An Act Concerning Pregnant Women in the Workplace, will be making a special address to kick off the program.
